The Community Center, founded in 1992, assists persons in emergencies, in times of transition and in need by providing a supplemental food pantry and a clothing exchange.
The work of the center, an outgrowth of the local interfaith council, is supported by 23 sustaining sponsors that include schools, civic groups, synagogues and churches in Bedford, Bedford Hills, Katonah, Mt. Kisco, Pound Ridge and Lewisboro.
A not-for-profit organization, the Center offers career support, computer classes and classes in English conversation. When appropriate, referrals are made to government and private social service agencies for additional services.
