The DPW is picking up debris (logs and brush) from the 10/29 snow storm from residents. The Town is also picking up leaves from designated hamlet areas and snow will not be far behind, so please minimize the quantity you put out since it may end up covered with snow. The fact that we are picking up storm debris will reduce the amount of pickups we provide for leaf removal.

Due to the difficulty in determining the duration on each road for the combined task of leaf pickup and storm debris pickup, no schedule will be published. Leaves will only be picked up in designated hamlet areas. Click here for a list of the designated hamlet areas. All loose leaves in designated hamlet areas had to be out by December 5th. After December 5th, all leaves must be baggeded. Where possible, leaves and debris are being picked up together.

All storm debris had to be out at the edge of your property by November 13th. Place debris so it does not interfere with traffic. DPW will collect only up to two cubic yards of storm debris material per household. Any material beyond two cubic yards will be left behind and must be removed by the property owner. Logs over 10” diameter shall not be greater than 3’ in length. Debris pickup will occur once per road. Once DPW has been through a street for pickup, they will not come back for storm debris.

The Town is working late each day and on Saturdays to expedite this work. That said, it will likely be at least mid-January before debris pickup and final leaf pickup occurs, weather permitting. Please contact DPW at 666-7669 with any questions.
