November 7th General Election Information
The 2006 General Election will be held on Tuesday, November 7th. Polls will open at 6am and close at 9pm. First time voters who registered by mail must show ID.

If you need to register to vote, applications must be postmarked not later than October 13th and received by the Board of Elections not later than October 18th. Registration forms are available online at http://www.westchestergov.com/boe/

Change of address from a registered voter must be received by the County Board of Elections by October 18th.

Voting by Absentee Ballot requires an excuse and you must be physically out of the County during the hours the polls are open.

October 31st is the last day to postmark application or letter of application for absentee ballot.

November 6th last day to apply in person and last day to postmark ballot, must be received by BOE not later than November 14th.

November 7th, last day to deliver ballot in person to BOE.

Election Inspectors

Westchester County is looking for Election Inspectors for the Town of Bedford. The most important responsibility of an Inspector is to insure that all eligible voters are afforded the right to vote and that the law is applied uniformly. Training classes are provided.

Election Inspectors must be registered voters.

Polling hours are 6:00a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
The Election Inspector's work day is 5:30a.m. to 9:30p.m. with lunch and dinner breaks.
Inspectors are paid $225.00 for the day.
